Adopting from ARC
If you are interested in adopting from ARC or have questions about our adoption process, please take a moment to read this page! Everything you need to know about adopting and our fees is below.
All of the animals listed are available and waiting to be adopted by you! We do not have a shelter for you to visit, because all of our animals stay in foster homes until they are adopted. In order to meet our animals, you must be an approved adopter. Read how can you become an approved adopter below.
Our fosters and volunteers are currently recovering from Hurricane Michael and we have no animals for adoption at this time. We appreciate your support while our community rebuilds and we hope to reopen soon, stronger than ever. #850Strong
How to Adopt
1. Fill out an application online.
2. Once we receive the application:
We’ll start checking your references (so please let them know).
We will call you to make an appointment for your home visit.
The home visit helps us get a feel for you, what you’re looking for in a critter and helps us to ensure that all ARC critters are going into a caring, loving home.
That’s it! Once you complete these two steps successfully, you will be an approved ARC Adopter!! At this point, you will meet the ARC critter you’re applying for and if all goes well, you’ll be signing the final agreement to take your new companion home.
Dogs and puppies: The basic adoption fee is $150. Please note, this fee may vary depending on the animal. This fee includes the spay or neuter, a general 4-in-1 vaccination, rabies vaccination, deworming, microchipping and the heartworm check. All dogs are kept current on heartworm and flea preventative while they are in our care. Each dog comes with an awesome adoption kit including a collar and leash, toys, and coupons for discounted and free services from local businesses (when available) like At Home Comforts Pet Sitting, Dagny & Dexter’s Doggy Daycare, Suncoast Pets, The DogSmith and more!
Cats and kittens: The basic adoption fee is $60. Please note, this fee may vary depending on the animal. This includes the spay or neuter, a general 3-in-1 vaccination, rabies vaccination, microchip and an FLV/FIV test. Each cat comes with their very own adoption kit including toys and coupons for discounted and free services from local businesses (when available) like At Home Comforts Pet Sitting, Pawaday Inn, Suncoast Pets, The DogSmith and more!
If you would like to adopt from ARC, but don’t see an animal that interests you at the moment, please still start the adoption process. This way, when the perfect animal does come along, you will be considered a pre-approved ARC Adopter.
